That's it for the inaugural Hunter Climate Summit. Friday 11th Oct 2019.

The organisers of this summit express deep gratitude to the people of the Wollotuka Institute for allowing us to hold our conference at Birabahn. We respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Pambalong clan of the Awabakal People, and we pay our respect to Elders, past, present and future.

Many thanks to also to our volunteers and Summit Partners Climate Action Newcastle and Beyond Zero Emissions for making this happen.  Thank you for attending - we hope you enjoyed this inaugural summit.

Presentations, videos and pictures have been loaded onto the website here, below.

Many Thanks for your Feedback.

A survey was created for delegates at the Hunter Climate Summit that was held at Newcastle in October 2019. 116 people registered for the summit that was held at Wollotuka Institute which was a great turnout.

The survey was undertaken to elicit feedback to help improve logistics and content of future summits. This survey took the form of an electronic form using Google Forms.   One week after the summit an email was sent out to delegates with a reminder email sent out two weeks later to fill out the online survey with responses representing approximately 41% of the delegates that attended the summit.
Delegates generally learnt about the event through business contacts and friends, the Newcastle Climate Change Response Facebook Page or the enviroBYTES email list.
The most popular Stream was Stream 5 Solutions - Social and Economic Change with 39% of respondents attending, followed by Stream 7 Solutions - Revegetation and Forests at 20% of respondents.
The most popular Tabletalk was Table 3: Direct Action, Forests & the Pilliga/Organising, Media with 35% of respondents attending, followed by Table 1: Hunter Renewal, Hunter Business Chamber, Workers, MMT at 19% of respondents.
The majority of respondents (74%) indicated they may attend either of the two follow up meetings.

Satisfaction ratings for the Summit rated high, with approximately 62% of respondents being satisfied with the event. The majority of respondents (86%) noted the Summit met or exceeded their expectations for attending, and 96 % indicating they would attend again and 98% recommend the Summit to others.  These are great results and a testament to the organisers.
