Marnie is a passionate environment and sustainability manager and community engagement practitioner with 20 years' experience in the government and non-government sectors. Marnie has a long history of working in roles to drive climate action, involving community organising, utilising deliberate democracy to enable representative groups of everyday citizens to contribute to climate change planning, and leading organisational climate change mitigation and adaptation policy and strategy development and delivery. She is currently Executive Manager Environment and Sustainability at the City of Newcastle, where a strong focus of her portfolio is driving both operational and community initiatives to transition the City of Newcastle to net zero emissions.
