This policy tells you how Newcastle Climate Change Response (NCCR) processes and protects your personal data. We aim to be clear when we collect your data, let you know what we will use it for and keep it secure.
For purposes of this Agreement, “Service” refers to the NCCR’s service which can be accessed via our websites at https://newcastleclimatechangeresponse.weebly.com/, through our mailouts (emailed Newsletters, Updates, etc), workshops and events. We may collect both “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information” about you. “Non-Personal Information” includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information we may collect, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences you submit and preferences that are generated based on the data you submit and number of clicks. “Personal Information” includes information that can be used to personally identify you, such as your name, address and email address.
We may collect personal information about you when:

You make a one-off donation or sign up to donate regularly,
You pay a membership fee,
You sign up to attend or participate in one of our events or workshops,
You purchase our merchandise,
You become involved in one of our training programs or campaigns,
You fill out a survey or quiz we send you,
You apply for a paid or volunteering role with us.
The information we collect may include, among other details, your name, address, email address, preferred phone number, your involvement in NCCR campaigns or activities.
If you make a donation or pay your membership, we will collect the details necessary to process this payment e.g. bank account details to set up a Direct Debit and ask for consent to use your contact details to send you updates on our campaigns and occasional appeals.
We do not store credit or debit card details and when making an online donation or membership payment your payment details are processed by a third-party secure server payment gateway.
We will not collect sensitive personal information unless there is a clear reason as to why we need it. We will only collect this with your consent, and we will give clear notices so that you know why we need this data and how long we will keep it for.
In addition, we may also track information provided to us by your browser when you view or use the Service, such as the website you came from (known as the “referring URL”), the type of browser you use, the device from which you connected to the Service, the time and date of access, and other information that does not personally identify you. We use this information for, among other things, the operation of the Service, to maintain the quality of the Service, to provide general statistics regarding use of the Service and for other business purposes. NCCR endeavours to ensure that the Personal Information it holds about you is complete, accurate and up to date. If you consider that your Personal Information is incomplete, inaccurate or out of date, you have the right to require us to correct it. In order to correct, erase or limit the processing of any of the Personal Information we hold about you, again please send a request via the form on our website.
If you are not satisfied with the handling of your concern or complaint by NCCR, you can escalate this to your national Data Protection Authority.
