Nicky IsonCommunity Power Agency
Nicky Ison is a Founding Director of the Community Power Agency, a Research Associate at the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology, Sydney and a Strategist at Climate Action Network Australia. She is an acknowledged leader, expert and commentator in the fields of energy policy, community energy, and the transition to clean energy.
Nicky holds a first class honours degree in Environmental Engineering and a degree in Arts (Environmental Studies) from the University of New South Wales. She is the lead author of the Repower Australia Plan: A policy blueprint to get to 100% renewables, the National Electricity Market Report Card and the ARENA funded National Community Energy Strategy. In 2014, Nicky was recognised on Westpac and the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence List. Nicky has spent over fifteen years working and volunteering in the climate and clean energy sectors, including helped to found five organisations. She was the inaugural Chair of advocacy organisation Solar Citizens, on the founding board of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) and the inaugural coordinator of the Coalition for Community Energy (C4CE).
