Are you a community, business, local government or public sector group that cares or advocates for communities or environments vulnerable to the predicted local or global effects of climate change?

Register for the Climate Summit
In a context where a wide spectrum of voices are now talking about this issue as an emergency, would you find it useful to hear from local scientific, policy and activist experts and have your voice heard on ways to come together across sectors and interests to address this threat?

Convened by a coalition of social justice, faith, health, environmental and other groups, the inaugural Hunter Climate Summit aims to:
  1. bring together diverse communities who are working with and for people and places vulnerable to the effects of climate change;
  2. facilitate the combining of forces in multiple ways to forward the Hunter's response to bringing Australia's emission reduction commitments in line with what is required to arrest the worst effects of climate change; and
  3. build the local response to addressing the worst impacts on people and local & global environments in the short term, that is, within the next 10 years.

If you care or advocate for communities in this space, you need to be there.

Are you a community, business, government or other public sector group that would like to be involved in contributing to this event? Would you like to contribute to a 20 minute stream or host a tabletalk on one of the Summit topics?:

OPPORTUNITY 1: STREAM PRESENTATION - 11.40-12.40pm: Formal 15 minute presentation followed by 5 mins of questions addressing the questions:
  • What you want done about the climate change issues of most concern to you;
  • Who you need to do it (policy / government / person); and
  • What your plans are to make this happen & what you want help with.
For the stream presentation we are seeking representation from the following groups:
  1. Women;
  2. Aged care;
  3. Workers;
  4. First peoples.

OPPORTUNITY 2: TABLETALK - 1.40-2.40pm: An informal 10 minute chat with interested delegates around a table where you share in a conversational style:
  • What matters most to you & your people about climate change;
  • What you think needs to be done; and
  • What your plans are to make this happen.
For the table talk we are seeking representation from the following groups:
  1. Faith-based
  2. Homeless support
  3. Health Care
  4. LGBTQI:
